What is Brit School?

I heard Brit School mentioned a few times at the Brit Awards this year. Apparently Amy Winehouse went there as did Adele. It seemed to be getting a bit of bad press. but what is it?

Please ignore my question.
I have coincidentally just seen Adele interviewed on This Morning and she has explained it.
For anyone who is interested, it is a performing arts school which young people attend on a full time basis. The Feeling, Kate Nash and lots of young talent have been there apparently.
