After the Archies in 1969 which was the next cartoon group song to make No 1 in the UK singles chart? Could it be Turtle Power?

Well, Partners In Kryme weren't actually a cartoon group, they just sang (well, rapped) about one. Next would be The Simpsons with "Do The Bartman". Before anyone asks, The Wombles never had a number one hit, their closest was number two for "Wombling Merry Christmas".
What about the Smurfs ?
Bartman was wicked! Definitely about before the Smurfs done a retake of that I Wanna Be a Hippy song. And the Wombles wasn't a cartoon was it? (I'm only 21 but I've also got a brain like a sieve!) I thought it was people in costumes? Or is that just for the marathon?!
The TV series "The Wombles" was a stop-motion animated series, made by Ivor Wood's "FilmFair" (Postman Pat, Paddington, etc). The spin-off records were promoted by people in costumes, and lots of people have dressed up in Womble costumes for a variety of reasons since then.
partners in kryme rapped about the ninja turtles but the song was from the 1st movie and not from the cartoon series so doesnt count
