why are the ting tings so popular?

It's all matter of personal taste, just because you don't like them doesn't mean other people don't.

I also think some of their songs are catchy, I don't care who or what they are trying to be, I like singing along to their tunes.

why 'desperate times' beetlebum. They are pure pop, even if they don't wish to be labelled thus.
I believe bednobs summed it up perfectly; their songs are catchy. What is wrong with that? There is an awful lot of money to be made in catchy songs, and if you are talented at writing and performing them then why is it 'desperate times'?
Blimey there are far worse 'musicians' out there.
And where are Late of the Pier and Wolves Parade playing this year?

there songs are all the same. I cannot stand them, I think they only got famous because there songs were used in adverts

I agree their songs may be perceived by some as being catchy, but as for talent........
