This is a fabulous song by Yazoo,which are one of my favourite pop bands of the past.
Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet formed Yazoo,and together they produced some really great songs.I have all the albums and singles that they produced.

Yes, going to attempt it a capella!! Can't decide whether it is a male singing about unrequited love or a mistress singing about a love she knows will never truly be hers.

Vince Clarke wrote this for Depeche Mode. Vince was about to leave the band in late 1981, and he wanted them to have a good single starting off 1982. Depeche Mode didn't want it; instead they released "See You," a song Martin Gore wrote when he was only 15. This song ended up on Yazoo's debut album.
