Whilst Definitely Maybe is my favourite Oasis album, I think the first Stone Roses album is better. I'll go with Exit Planet Dust by the Chemcial Brothers though. I'll probably change my mind tomorrow.

Hendrix's debut is a cracker. I'm also impressed by the songwriting on The Bluetones' debut. Finally, at the mo' The Libertines are my favourite band so I'd have to consider them.

Tractor Boy. U suck. Thats my album, get your own. Best debut is either Elbow - Asleep in the back, Stone Roses - Stone Roses, or Coldplay - Parachutes. Nicola_Red, Apetite for destruction wasnt Guns n Roses' debut. Think it was "Lies".

Aha! Thought someone might say that about GN'R, Scarlets. Appetite was their first 'proper' album, eg full length and major release. But Lies actually came out a year after Appetite. I think you're thinking of Live Like A Suicide, which was 6 months before Appetite, and was a limited release mini-album of covers and live material. So I didn't count it. But of course some would argue if it's not a single, then it must be an album!
