O' Holy night
7 Answers
My dad heard a version of "O'Holy Night" sung by Roberto Alagna on the radio just before christmas, we went on the radios web site and found that it was with the "Toulouse orchestra" and there was an EMI number with it, I keep putting this number and the names into google , ask, etc but haven't come up with the english version of this song, all i keep finding is the French (I think) sung version. Can anyone help me to find this for my dad, maybe someone has played it over christmas and can tell me what album I can purchase. Thanks.

The version that your Dad heard - was it in english or french? If it was in french then maybe he has never recorded it in english?
It is a fabulous song/hymn though. Gives me goosebumps!

Hi shivvy,
Thanks very much for your help and info, I have looked on the iTunes and Napster sites, but only the french version on there. ( I'll be using those sites a lot more, now I know about them.)
I have done loads more web searching over the weekend, including e mailing Classic FM where my dad originally heard the track , (no answer yet from them) but all the web sites seem to bring me to the French version.
I am now coming to the conclusion that, like you said, Roberto Alagna may not have recorded in English at all.!!
I'm still searching, but if I do find out, I'll post it on here, but for the time being, my dad is pleased as punch with the album I got him with the French version, and all this searching has opened me up to some rather spectacular music I had never bothered to listen to before ! :-)

If you are lucky, you might get chatting to the man himself!
Good luck.
