That's why I asked the question, because it's happened again, stupid! Ok, I'll rephrase:

When was the last time, before yesterday, that a song went back up to Number 1 in the charts?

I am not sure if it has happened this year, if not the last time it happened would be early 2002 when George Harrison returned to No1 with My Sweet Lord originally No1 in 1971.  That was a re-issue though.

 

Just before that Daniel Beddingfield returned to No1 with "Gotta Get Thru This" at the star of 2002.

 

I will check where I can and come back if I find anything different.
