Hi
I would like to take an mp3 file and cut them down to make a ringtone.
Can anyone recommend any freebie software I can download? (As simple as possible too!)
Thanks in advance.

There are plenty of cheap, or even free ones available. At a push the "Sound Recorder" that comes with Windows should do it if you play your mp3 and record it at the same time then edit.

You will also need the lame MP3 encoder to enable it to export as mp3's

Download the lame file above, extract it somewhere safe and first time you attempt to export to mp3 audacity will ask you where the lame encoder is.
