I am looking for a song that really represents a trippy or druggy 60s feel (for a film soundtrack) and so far have only found Eight Miles High (Byrds) and "Break on Through" (Doors). There must be others that have that same feel? Any ideas?

Hmmm, dot just nicked my answer!

Other choices could be anything from Pink Flloyd's Dark Side of the Moon album

i think the line
I looked in the sky where an elephants eye was looking at me from a bubblegum tree,
kinda defines an age lol
I "grew up" in the 1960s hippy era so have a few ideas.

How about "Incense and Peppermints" by Strawberry Alarm Clock.

Go to this web site and press "Preview All" to hear part of it

actually i suppose Purple Haze is trippy/hippy, but at the time I didn't really rate it cos it was just a noise!!! i preferred the Monkees lol
or how about this

(what was Lennon on when he wrote it?)
Where to begin, Scarlett? Easy Rider soundtrack has plenty of options. "I had too much to dream last night" by the Electric Prunes is worth a listen. "Mama told me not to come" by Three Dog Night (previously by the Animals I think). "Heroin" by Velvet Underground probably a bit obvious. Hope thie helps a bit.
How about ...The Orb - 'Little fluffy clouds'... nice n' trippy...electronica..great track

How about the Beatles and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

Even the initials, LSD, give it away (even though John denied it).

Cant find the Beatles version on amazon to listen to, so how about this reggae version (which is quite good actualy

Painting Box
How Sweet To Be A Cloud

From '5000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion' by The Incredible String Band.
Actually Tomorrow Never Knows by the Beatles is one of the most trippy druggy tracks I know:

An LSD trip put to music.
Whoops, did not realise that mushroom25 had already mentioned Tomorrow Never knows.

He put the link to Youtube but did not mention the track by name so I missed it.

There is a long (13 minutes) dream like Jimi Hendrix track called 1983 (A merman I should turn to be) from Electric Ladyland.

This might fit well as a film soundtrack as it is mostly instrumental.

Here is part 2 (cant find part 1 on YouTube)

Another really good tripped out track is

'Heroin' by Jammin Unit....

unfortunately i cant find a clip of it on U tube or anywhere.. :-(
'Sunshine Superman' by Donovan, 'For What It's Worth' by Buffalo Springfield, 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' by Procol Harum, 'Sunshine Of Your Love' by Cream, 'Walk On Gilded Splinters' by Marsha Hunt...
Bunch of Druggies i mix with lol^^^^^^^^^^^^
shut it stompey...or i'll drop something into your drink....LOL

btw there is a lady .....'on the boil'...waiting for you to return..on another thread.....:-O Click!!
