mp3 memory, not as stated.

I have a cowon d2 mp3 player 16gb which is supposed to hold approx.5000 tracks. but after loading only900 a message comes up saying disk full. how do I overcome this..thanks

I'm no expert ,but did you load them as MP3's?
If you loaded them as ordinary tracks they will take more memory. I think, and as I say I'm no expert, that if you turn them into mp3 first before loading it compresses the track size. Perhaps someone with a bit more experience could jump in and explain my reasoning.
