Van Morrison, Laura Brannigan and U2 have all recorded very different songs called Gloria, though from the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles that I have, the version made famous by Laura Brannigan originally entered the charts in 1979 with Jonathan King.

"The Animals" also recorded this in mid 60's.
