Some famous cellists

The most famous cellist of the early part of the 20th century was the Spanish cellist Pablo Casals. He made the cello popular as a solo instrument today. Some other famous cellists of the last century include Emanuel Feuermann, Gregor Piatigorski, Paul Tortelier, Jacqueline du Pr� and Mstislav Rostropovich. Today Yo-Yo Ma, Mischa Maisky, Steven Isserlis, Tim Hugh, Robert Cohen, Moray Welsh and Truls M�rk are among the greatest players.
