As an avid admirer of Rod Stewart, am I the only fan that doesn't really like his latest releases (i.e. Great American Songbooks)?

Slow and easy stuff that takes no real effort to do.....Rod's voice is knackered these days and I doubt he would be up to much in the way of stuff like "Stay with me" or "Maggie May".....It's ok for background dinner music, the vocal equivalent of Richard Clayderman but not where he started from or his best stuff by miles.

It suits his tired image these days.  I used to like him so much but I find him embarrassing now, a bit like Peter Stringfellow.

I'm not a fan generally, but I heard his new one at my mum's house last weekend and i suggested to her that a better title would be 'Rod Stewart Murders The Classics'. Needless to say, she disagreed.
I agree... Rod is a legend but this stuff is awful. He needs to sort his nut out and get back Rocking and a Rolling again.

I'm a big fan of Rod, but he's staring to show his age.
His critics tell him he's to old to rock n roll and it seems he believes them!

maybe Rod ought to dig out Gasoline Alley and remember how good he used to be.......

i thin its called selling out !

release an album of pap for the biggest musical market in the world and even include their name in the title.the fools will buy it for patriotics reasons alone !

He lost it in the early 70s.
