sorry, title of song is what, artist judy street.
'Slow Down' by John Miles.

Diffrent types of favourite topman:

Best Twisted Wheel Style Real Soul - Open The Door To Your Heart, Darrel Banks

Best Wigan Stomper - Rubin, You've Been Away

Best blue-eyed pop N/soul - Rain - Out of My Mind

Best Instrumental-  Righteous Bros. Band - Rat Race

Best Tamla Northern - Heaven Must have Sent You - Elgins

Best girlie Northern - Fireman - Vala Regan

Best male vocal group - Epitome of Sound - You Don't Love Me

Best 60s Britis beat group played on the scen - Chapter 5 - You can't Mean It

You can probably guess I can't pick just one so have invented various categories to accomodate some - but not nearly all - my faves!

cruthinboy, topsounds, all i want to do now is get out on the floor. [ dobie gray]

Thank you topman! Never much of a dancer myself - usually found hanging round the record stalls at the side.

Mitch Ryder - Breakout....Landslide - Tony Clarke....maybe today it should be Wigan's Ovation - Skiing in the snow!

Too hard to choose one favourite, it's the music I play when I need a mood lift - dance round my handbag in the kitchen. (but not for hours like I used to!)

Still hoping to comes across a copy of 'Do I Love You, Indeed I Do' - Frank Wilson.

Some hope......

Question Author
cetti, If you ever come across a copy, theres 10 waiting for you.
Mine is The Inspirations' Touch Me Hold Me Kiss Me.
Ah yes dirtyprotest - used to love that one, but just a little too girlie for me now I'm old and bitter.
Question Author
blowing my mind to pieces, bob relf.

There was a bad re-recorded version of Bob Relf on the Black magic labe in 1975.

Other great NS instrumentals:

Fife Piper - Dynatones

How Can I Forget - Joey Dee

If You and I Had Never Met - Magic Night

Right on - Al de Lory

Spring Rain - Silvetti

Black is Black - both Paul Mauriat and Sounds Orchestral versions

 10 - I don't think so topman!

In 1997 the 3 or 4 remaining copies were worth from 5,000 each.... wonder where they are?

I think the couple of copies of Frank Wilson are 3 or 4 times that price now.

As for my favourites.  Obviously "Tainted Love" has to be in there.  As someone else mentioned Darrell Banks "Open the door..." is superb, and"Landslide" has become one of my faves, along with the Rubin track since it was used on a cat food ad (Felix).

I think one of the absolute faves is Tommy Hunt "Loving on the losing side". It was pretty much my introduction to Northern Soul about 30 years ago by my older brother who attended various venues.

When I was old enough to go anywhere I became a dj (actually, I was 16 when I started) so never really got the chance to get to any Northern Soul nights.  Despite never really getting onto the scene, I have always carried quite a few Northern tracks.

The snake-al wilson

I'm on my way -dean parrish

Footsee - Wigans chosen few

Tainted Love - I think i prefer Gloria Jones' version

"Do I love You ..." was released on Tamla Motown in 1979 - those copies can probably be had for a tenner.
Do I love you was a great song ........i'm more of a motown lover guess that still slots into the Northern Soul :)
