Who had a cough on 4 March 1950?

Think Opera.

Think Wagner.

Think Italy.

I'm going out. Back about 9/10 ish to see if anyone has been inspired.

No'Kno ... subtle little 9/10 9th October observation, there.

This was too obscure ... I can see that now.

It was the first day of recording of a historic recording of Wagner's Ring.

listens to collective groans and jeers ...

I've had a copy for years, but the recording has recently been remastered, and I've bought another copy.

During the recording of the first Opera, a member of the audience has a persistent hacking cough.

It doesn't detract from the breathtaking quality of the performance ... but one Italian opera-goer had his cough recorded for posterity.

Almost 70 years later, it is still the most worst cough in all of classical music.

That's why I posted this in Music ... not Q&P.

Sorry.

Love,
Seagull
