I heard a Pearl Jam song on the radio & didn't catch the name. It was a cover of (I think) a 70's track. The lyrics mention somebody going to heaven & the vocals sound a bit like early Springsteen (though I know it obviously isn't).  Confused? You will be. Anyone help me out please?

Oh where oh were could my baby be
The lord took her away from me
She's gone to heaven so I've got to be good
So I can see my baby when I'll leave this world

Beauiful song. Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam's vocalist) found an old LP in an antique store in Seattle. It was recorded and released as one of the songs that they released for their fan club. They do a cover or unreleased song that the public don't usually get to hear. From memory this one was released for Christmas. The song is called "Last Kiss", originally done by J. Frank Wilson And The Cavaliers in 1964. This is pretty freely available information.

In addition to what kifaru has said, it can be found on their album'Lost Dogs'. i think it's a gorgeous song - made me cry when i first heard it!
