anyone remember a song (60's maybe) that contained the lyrics "if you kiss me quick then we'll have a cup of tea, by the seaside", this could have been "at the seaside" - not sure which.

Some of the words:-
And we'll all dip our heads in the deep blue sea,
If you kiss me quick then I'll know you fancy me,
At the seaside.
And later on:
So climb up in the charabanc
And we'll get back home on time
From a day at the seaside
A day at the seaside
And we all dipped our heads in the deep blue sea ...
If you send in a request to Sounds of the Sixties on Radio 2 you might even get to hear it (but you'll have to listen to a lot of radio at weekends to find out).
Hi,
You'll find more info on this song: 'A Day At The Seaside' by Vince Hill if you browse the Questions & Answers section on The Vince Hill website; www.vincehill.co.uk
On the site, one of his fans advises that this song is currently available on a compilation CD - titled: 'Puppets On A String - Songs Of Eurovision' , on the 'Castle' label. It can be purchased at a good price from online retailers such as Amazon.co.uk .
It is available - I checked it out today.
Up till now, I thought that the song was sung by Mike Sarne.
Hope this helps.

OK this is about 12 years late but here goes.....
...I am also wanting to find out what song this is and who sung it. I recall there is a pause at the end of "cup of tea......" before ".....at/by the seaside" continues and then there is a musical break/bridge or whatever after this.......it was along time ago! lol!
It is the type of song that Mike Sarne would sing. I have the soundtrack to "Seaside Swingers" in which he appears, and thought it might be on that, but it isn't.............have you found anything on this since 2004?
