we think these words are the chorus of an old song, anyone recognise it?

think it's from the music halls of the 30's, but not really sure. My elderly aunt suggests some of the words might have been changed, as the song was sung to us when we were children.

The words I learnt were:

Up jumped a savaloy and hit him on the head

I think I heard it on an early edition of Sesame Street or something similar - something American anyway.

My father sang a song which I think the boys in his convalescent home in Dartford in 1921 had adapted - it shares some lyrics with a song sung by Everton and Queen of the South supporters sang, according to my Google research. My father's version went:

"We are the K-block boys, we are the K-block boys; we know our manners, we spend our tanners, we are respected wherever we go; we go marching down the Old Kent Road, doors and windows open wide; i-tiddly-iti eat brown bread, ever see a sausage fall down dead, we are the K-block boys!
