Saxon performed a live version of Wheels of Steel at the Reading Festival, but I don't know which year or on which CD the track appears...any help? Ta Muchly.

I think it's on Denim And Leather.

the studio version appears on the 1980 album of the same name. a live recording made during their 1981 US tour appears on the 1982 album "The Eagle Has Landed". A recording was made at Reading in 1986 by the BBC and released on the "BBC Sessions" album.

I saw Saxon at Sheffield City Hall, about 25 years ago.

I'm sure you were all dying to know that.

I was a bit of a fraidy cat rebel, though.

I never did it in front of my parents.

They were the support act to a band called Nazareth.

I'd gone all the way to Sheffield (about 1,000 miles away!!) to see them.

On weekends home, I'd go home in my boater and pleated skirt, with my blazer and pony tail.

Weekends away, we'd be all denimed up, hair down, bumming a lift to rock gigs.

Those were the days.

Ah yes, those sweet reckless days of youth...mind you, I never had a boater or gymslip!

They were best avoided, I think.
