Maybe it was The Johnny Burnette Trio, they were quite famous in the 50s................
I don't remember a ukulele group but in the 50's there was The Big Ben Banjo Band who, I think, were from Scotland.

Didn't they play on Workers' Playtime quite often? 10-10.30 every morning on the radio, bit of fun music for the workers!
No, it wasn't Workers' Playtime, that was something else, it was "Music While you Work". I remember Mum having it on while she did the housework.
