A video came out about 4 years ago with a girl walking backwards, starts in a cafe and finishes with her walking along the centre of a motorway, features a dance track, features a scene with ivy growing up a wall.

Sounds like Orbital's "The Box". Although it wasn't backwards, but shot in sped-up real-time, a very weird looking effect. And there definitely was a girl in a cafe, and then on a motorway reservation, and I seem to remember ivy growing so that might be it.
