Slade, Kenny, Bay City Rollers, Mud, Showaddywaddy, ELO, The Rubettes. I'm showing my age now!
Mud, I met the lead singer once, Les Gray, he was funny.

I also remember Nazareth, Geordie, Showwaddywaddy, Noosha Fox, Alice Cooper, Bowie
I went to three Gary Glitter concerts in the early 80s. Each was better than the last and they were the best concerst I've ever been to. It's a shame he went the way he did but at his peak he was unmatched. What a showman and performer!

To continue the list;
David Bowie, David Essex, David Cassidy, The Osmonds, Donny and Marie Osmond, Jackson Five, Sparks.

"I drove my tractor through your haystack last night, (ooh argh, oor argh),
I threw my pitchfork at your dog to keep quiet............"

Don't forget The Wurzels! I bought all their records!

"For seven long years I've been alone in this place,
Pigs sleep in the kitchen, it's a proper disgrace..............."

Wonderful!
I can't (be bothered to) add to this but am enjoying the memories :-)
Favourite songs: Blockbuster, Wigwam Bam, 48 Crash, Can The Can, Do You Wanna Be In My Gang, Tiger feet, Hypnosis (Hypnotic?), Goodbye My love.

Agreed, a very sad outcome. I met him too when I was about 10 (yikes).

Oh yes and Pilot "January" reminds me of one of my first teenage school crushes Alison Hawthorne ..*sigh* - she broke my 13 YO heart !
Love it LOL

Hi AP,

It's bringing back some great memories. I'm impressed you met Gary Glitter as I really liked him - and I still do! We could never condon what he did and the disgrace he became in later years of course, but they were terrific songs. All the performers and audience were happy then and everyone had smiles on their faces. Oh to be a teenager in the 70s again!
Another memory from my early teens, and a bloody good 'chart rundown' (see if you can remember the hit from the artist)

Wonderful AP. "Her escape was so urgent, she dropped her detergent..........." That's beautiful. Even better than the Wurzels.
..yep the 70s spawned the finest wordsmiths :-)
Not glam rock but who remembers this and does it bring back a particular memory like it does for me ? ..it was on the surgery radio while my choppers were being mauled around by a particularly sadistic dentist. (A double whammy of excruciating pain)

Ouch - on both counts! Obviously a nightmare ingrained in your memory AP. Do you still wake up sweating?
