Limewire no longer exists. There was a court ruling recently which prevented Limewire from sharing files and music.

Chances are your problems came from limewire.
limewire is now banned for copyright reasons however u can still use limewire 1-4. app there are a lot of " bring limewire back " t shirts round my way i want one!! the night beofre they were in court app they hacked all the court computers and wiped everything!!
the net is closing in on p2p networks! Its at the 'not worth it' stage. MP3 download are cheap enough these days. I check out a tune on youtube and pay for it if I desperatly want it.
What's your definition of a 'safe' program? Any software which connects your computer to a stranger's computer (which, by definition, is what all P2P programs have to do) presents potential security risks.

Similarly, because your activities can easily be traced, using such software always runs the risk of you being sued or prosecuted:

However, if you're mad enough to take the risks, Frostwire is as good as anything:

I make a nice bit of extra money from limewire.

People use it, it mucks up their computer and then they pay me to fix it.
I agree. File sharing is a crime and if you want the music then you should pay for it. Main reasons are - better quality, supports the musicians, no viruses or malware, keeps you from getting sued. As one comment said, music is fairly cheap now. I use www.mp3puzzled.com to find where the cheapest track is. Simply go to the website, search for your chosen track and it will tell you where you can get it for the cheapest price. Oddly enough, iTunes is NEVER in the top 5 ;)
