I went to see her at Wembley Stadium in 1990 when she did her Blond Ambition tour.
Ray of Light

loads of great songs, she is one of the best female artists ever in my opinion.
Hard question to answer as she has done a few top tunes but at a push i would plump for Borderline
By a mile ... it's got to be "Hung Up"
Well my unfavourite is American Pie - she just doesn't sound to have the least bit of understanding of what it's about and totally wrecks it
> she just doesn't sound to have the least bit of understanding of what it's about

Neither does Don Maclean, by all accounts... ;-)

A classic example of how to over-analyse something:

I`m not mad on Madonna but I like Nothing Really Matters from the Ray of Light album
From MR's link ...

"The pickup truck has endured as a symbol of sexual independence and potency, especially in a Texas context".

YEEEEEHAWWWW ... squeal like a pig, boy.
This one's my favourite:

"The players tried for a forward pass
Obviously a football metaphor, but about what? It could be the Rolling Stones, i.e. they were waiting for an opening which really didn't happen until the Beatles broke up."

What utter garbage!

Cor markrae, that first link is a corker. The first part makes sense, but after that...
Reminds me of the story where John Lennon heard that his old English teacher was getting pupils to analyse his lyrics, which he found hilarious, so he wrote "I Am the Walrus" and made it deliberately nonsensical just to see what garbage they'd interpret into it... :-)
He didn't 'write' that track, he smoked it.
Drowned World/Substitute for Love - she still hasn't topped that one.

I liked quite a few off Confessions - Future Lovers, Jump, I Love New York.

The live version of Virgin from the Confessions tour is the best version she ever did.

I thought she really clicked with the British producers, Orbit and Price. Pity she didn't go back and work with them again.
