Hi, I am trying to collect all Original Beatles Monthly's. Does anyone know a sure-fire way of telling the Originals from the reprints that came out a couple of years later?

All of the reprints had a few extra pages on the outside with the reprint in the middle. Some of the reprints came in the old A5 'Record Collector' before the Beatles book was relaunched and continued the reprints to the end. So, unless people have resorted to such devious tactics as removing the extra pages to try and make them look like the originals, there should be no confusion. I have a number of copies of both originals and reprints and I seem to recall that the print quality is slightly less clear, but I think you'd need them side by side to spot it. I'm not aware of any other difference in the actual reprint sections, but I'll have a look later and let you know if I can see any.

Cheers smorodina!
Just checked them out and the reprints are much grainier then the originals. You can't really confuse them if you have a few examples to go by.

Is there any difference in their size? I have just started collecting and have only ten at the moment, but some differ in size by a few millimeters!
All of the books, both old and reprint, seem to vary by a couple of millimetres from issue to issue and there is a slight differentce between the original and reprint I have, but I only have a few a couple of dozen copies from around the 50's to the end. I seem to remember that some odd issues did vary by a bit more throughout the runs.
im trying to sell a load of originals, wanna talk turkey?
