Why call me a white pig?

I suppose I look a typical White businessman. A few months ago I was going into a shop in London when I saw three young black men coming out and stood aside to let them pass and was rewarded by being told “that’s right white pig stand aside” when I said “thanks I like pigs” I was threatened with violence.
If I had addressed these young men as they addressed me would I be in trouble?

Calling the police would have done no good as racists comments only work the other way!

Its one of the reason I won't ever go back to live in london... the whole 'respect' thing which for the youth involved actually mean fear...

there has been a horrible change to the atmosphere in some areas and its really sad

If that had been me, I would definitely have reported it - cheeky gits !!

I did not report it to he Police. I am White and I like pigs, it also seemed trivial but thinking about it later I was concerned at the provocative attitudes.

Better to have stood there smiling, no need to get yourself killed over name calling. Doesn't stop you from thinking they were just trash, does it.

I see this kind of behaviour as an attempt to 'shock' - I rarely come across it here , but a month or so ago I did. A group of 6 high school boys swaggered past me on the path through our grounds - the ringleader was loudly shouting "f***,f***' repeatedly, the others I could tell were impressed by his bravado at shocking what I am sure he thought was as a little old lady(I am not).

I calmly and loudly asked if he was to be taught two syllable words the next lesson, he went quite red and his mates then began to laugh at him.

I filed it under ignorance and a point to me.

.I was threatened with violence by being asked “ do you want a f****** punch in the mouth mate”? Strange how I am threatened and addressed as a friend at the same time.
