Heard its some sort of protest. Haven't heard/seen anything on news (news black out). Is it something 'they' don't want us to know about?

Ooh just finding stuff out about it. A friend of mine in London witnessing the masses. The protest called 'MillionMaskMarch', they all wearing these creepy masks. Apparantly there are thousands of protestors in cities across the world. What are they protesting about? Why is this not on news...surely this is news?!

Quite possibly. Just curious why nothing on any of news channels? Surely disruption in London would be news alone, but it's worldwide apparantly...weird. Wondering why it's being hidden from us?

I doubt its newsworthy. We have protest marches most weekends, be it the NHS workers, Royal Mail workers, or this masked group. Its probably not causing the mass disruption you think it would, just another demo.

I heard a woman being interviewed on LBC radio she said they were going to sit across the road on Westminster Bridge at 6pm, she did not seem to care that people would be late for their trains, buses etc to get home on Bonfire Night but I did not hear why exactly why, I think it was the hike in energy bills.

A presenter on Talk Sport this morning said there was a protest gathering (with some kettling) of about 100 people near Buckingham Palace but it sounded to me as if she said it was something to do with anti-hacking (anti fracking?). She said similar protests were taking place in Australia and other countries. Is that the same protest?

It seems the protesters had a number of causes- "part of a global protest against austerity cuts, corruption and an increase in state surveillance."
