Having been soundly rejected by the People, Boris is sulking by doing nothing effective to protect them from Omicron.

All he cares about is himself. Let's hope he soon flounces off.

Why do you keep posting this stuff in Chatterbank?
there seem to be a lot of people on this site desperate for a lock down. Odd.
Where should it be posted mamya? In the bin?
Politics or Current Affairs.
Either of the 3 options or indeed neither will get Boris hung drawn and quartered by some group of our society.
Tut! The very idea of doing 'something' rather than nothing upsets people. What's to do? It's a dilemma!

he won't go until he's forced out unfortunately... ego like that will never admit fault!!
True. Highly unlikely he will go himself.. Dragging and screaming s the only way .
Could be Nicola's twin.
Oh , again again and again . Boring .
I think it's more important to keep News clear of the repetitive nonsense it's full of now - but no one ever tells the culprits there to post elsewhere. At least Chatterbank is the place for nonsense.
I'm not sure why it should be Boris' or anyone else's job to protect the people from Omicron. We've existed with this for nigh on 2 years. The terrified, the doom mongerers and the genuinely fearful vulnerable already know what to do to protect themselves. Everyone else has some fair idea of what to do also by now based on their own risks and attitude. If you want a lockdown impose it on yourself, you don't need permission from Boris nor the ABers who are almost clamouring for it either.
Spot on Prudie.

I am no fan of Boris but so far he's playing it reasonably well. The merchants of doom need to be shut up though.

Advisors should advise and politicians should decide.
"The merchants of doom need to be shut up though"

ominous
// I think it's more important to keep News clear of the repetitive nonsense it's full of now //

now if this had been posted by anyone other than my nemesis - aka....then i would be inclined to quip as a er crushing one liner in a jokey sense of course

well shut up then!
"Having been soundly rejected by the People," - when was the PM rejected by the people? They last had a vote in 2019 and I don't think an 80 seat majority is considered a "rejection" generally.
//"The merchants of doom need to be shut up though"

ominous//

It's no more ominous than trying to stifle debate in the other direction, which is entirely what the "experts" keep doing. I watched a bit of telly yesterday and every "expert" who was wheeled out sang from the same hymn sheet:

"The government must do something [basically, what I say they should]....they must do it now"

"Every day they dither means [insert whatever number you fancy here followed by an many noughts as you like] deaths."

There are plenty singing an alternative version, but we hear not a peep. For my liking there are too many occasions in this country where contrary opinion, on a number of topics, is viewed as heresy. Because you don't like what you hear that is no reason why you shouldn't hear it.
so much - I dont like this, and that should be elsewhere !

why dont people just answer the question ?

he (BJ) has done nothing on this one because he think it is the right thing to do. - more of the same. - hang the cases and hope that serious cases arent er serious

more especially - before the usual suspects quip - "he's so odd - he is answering the question for a start - he is not one of us"

I think he (Boris silly) is waiting for the infection numbers today - saturday I THOUHT was 90 000 more than Fri on a day that didnt collect figures ( week end see)

He has previously said ( Boris that is!) that he wd institute a lock down over a pile of dead bodies or something ) wh kinda means never

Heneghan ( computer modeller silly!) was on the radio this am R4) bad was 6000 d a day and good was 600 - BUT he was the one early on who said the gold standard in virus diagnosis was +ve culture ( not true - true for bacteria)and was sent back to his dog basket.

( usual suspects: this wont do at all ! he is answering the question - but so obtusely that it counts as not!)

I think the Beebz understanding of the mechanics/innards of covid i worse than the average suspect on AB

terrible

are Monday figures usually low - anyway shedload of cases today and 44 deaths which to my mind allows him to fwobble his lovely flaxen hair , say cripes a few times and .... wait

Prudie, that sounds as if you are one of the "I'm all Right" brigade. Yes, most of us do know what to do to protect ourselves - pity you can't say that to all those who have died over the past two years.
