Where is our aid ?

Why is it that when there is a crisis in the world the Brits get things together and send loads of aid . So where is the aid when we need it with the floods ,why are the EU not helping out ? When France had high winds we sent engineers to help get the power back on . Are we a nation of softies , help others but no help when we need it ??

But most decent British people are hard working and industrious ,and would relish the chance to further their career

Sorry Legend but thats wrong. Every year all the university places are full for both doctors and nurses then they can't get jobs. Even ones that have qualified with really good grades can't get jobs.

we have always been bombed, the only thing that has changed is the people doing it. I dont think we can blame the IRA attacks on immigration any more then we can blame the latest attacks on immigration.

Seriously though do you think we have any more rain then we did 20 years ago? I dont think we do but it seems now a heavy down pour and theres floods.
I wonder more if it's due to all the extra housing etc being put in and no improvements being made to our Victorian drainage pipes.

Saw on the news earlier that in Gloucester I think it was, someone was buying bottled water at 89p and selling it outside supermarket for �5.

Its all about money at the end of it, why hire a foreign nurse when we have surplus trained medical staff on the dole? why do we not look after our own citizens? why do we ship work abroad?

a subject close to my heart , YES why dont we get help from other countries .Surley other countries have an equivalant of "Blue Peter" arranging bring and buy sales to raise money for British flood victims or am i another brain washed British resident

I know the answer pirate...looking after our own citizens requires, money and effort , work and time, everything that people dont bother with these days.....

Life is all about getting rich quick, having the most luxuries, being a size zero, earning a 3 figure sum, and marrying either a pop star, footballer or a model.

sad but true for a lot of people...but not all thankfully
