Britain's debt

One way of solving Britain's debt is selling some of our physical assets. We could sell the Orkneys and the Shetlands to Norway, the original owners and settlers, chunks of Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland, Gibraltar to Spain, Jersey to France, the Caribbean islands to the highest bidder. Before you know it, we'd be debt free and living happily ever after with the banks and New Labour in one big nest.

I think Orkney & Shetland would welcome that. Jersey is not part of the UK so 'selling' it would be fraud, but then it would be on France so OK.
We could sell all our utilities and infrastructure to foreigners.

- Oops, the Iron Lady already did that.
Gromit....true.....but she was kind enough to leave our Gold reserves to Gordon.........ooooops.
