When is Obama going to realise that the spill is an American Problem, not Brirish
1. BP is 40% owned by America
2. 50% of the directors are American
3. BP employs 20,000 in USA and only 10,000 in UK
4. The drilling rig is owned by is American Company, designed in America, manned almost totally by Americans. And the American Company relocated its HQ to Switzerland to avoid paying $2 billion American tax. Where is your voice Obama.
5. How dare he dictate dividend policy to BP. Has he thought of all the American pension funds that will suffer hence American pensioners.
6. At least Hayward stayed to take the heat. One day off since April is the least he can expect.
7. Obama talks of corporate responsibility. Is he going to ensure that the natural disaster caused by American oil companies in the Niger Delta is treated the same as the Gulf of Mexico. I bet he does not
8. What about the Amoco Cadiz disaster in France when the oyster and fishing industry was devastated? Is he going to make the company pay retrospectively I bet he does not.
9. Even worse. Bhopal. Still the effects being felt after 25 years. What is he going to do about it.

My question is, when is this hypocrisy going to stop.

See C F's link for my answers as well, Obamah is just looking to blame someone other than himself.
The US government gave special permission of the deep water drilling to take place and allowed a lower level of safety to keep the cost down. They actually requested the deep water drilling to take place and changed the rules so that the companies could afford it....

The Americans can present this as 'Foreigners polluting our shores'. Hypocrisy is a useful political tool.
Couldn't agree more... see my answer here,

He's only having a go at us to deflect from his growing unpopularity in the US and to try and big himself up.
I couldn't understand the Chairman's apology - he was Dutch.
Answer. Not until BP goes down the drain and all those Americans get laid off and start to blame his grandstanding.

Obama started his term on an absolute high and hasn't been able to maintain it. He has to do/say something that will get him back up again. Or at least to mitigate the fact he can't actualy do much. It's not as if he can swim out there and cap the well himself is it!
