As usual the UN is impotent. By the time any sort of action is taken to protect innocent Libyans. Gadaffi will have achieved his aims, that is, quash the revolution. I must agree with the USA stance to back off and I'm afraid the UK's pushing for military intervention, once again will make us front line cannon fodder for Islamic extremists. Let's back off for once and let the rest of europe do the biz, if they've got the bottle for it!

The UN, NATO, the EU, will still be wringing their collective hands and having discussions long after it's all over.
I couldnt agree more Bravehearted - I dont really care what the UN, EU or USA do about this - agreed its bad what Colonel G is doing but we (the UK) must step back from any direct action - another Iraq of Afghanistan looms on the horizon if we interfere. Lets someone else do the dirty work for a change - Italy perhaps ??
Italy is the former colonial power. They should be the last country to interfere.
Let the Japanese take it over. With the news coming out of Nippon at the moment, they may need some new land to house 15 million folk.....
