Why don't we stop paying out billions for wars and overseas aid, and settle back into the mud? 11,000 bombing runs into Libya would help a lot of UK citizens...

handbags at dawn i think. We haven't been a colonial power for a long time, but surely if the Falkland Islands wish to remain under British rule, then one would have to respect that. President Obama is pushing this issue with the Argentinians, most likely because of the oil that's there. We are not going to sink into the mud, there's life in the old girl yet.
Agree we should stop all aid, but that isn't what Cameron will do, nor any politician.
Stop all aid to Pakistan and simply watch Al-Qaeda and extremists take advantage. Today's world is ever more interconnected. What happens in a distant country can affect us as never before.
It's nothing to do with being a "colonial" power.
