It was a decent speech. Summed up my feelings for the most part. But I think leaders are usually chosen on finding the least objectionable compromise by the different parts of the party, from the candidates available. Not necessarily the ones who are first choice by one part. But who knows ? He did himself no harm with the latest activity in the House.
He comes across as a back biting little creep and certainly never a 'comrade' Who knows and moreover who cares - IMHO Labour is finished and will never recover. next election will be UKIP v Cons.

Don't you believe it Retro.

It's not long ago that people were writing off the Conservative party.

However this period may give the chance for the Liberals to regain some ground.
Please could someone tell me if there is a way I can hear Benn's full speech when I get home from work tonight - youtube, BBCiplayer??

Don't think he's a future leader, but that was one heck of a speech.
Looking around the front bench (and back benches too) I think he would be a strong candidate, but would he want it?
Good speech and well-argued, his old man would have been proud of him. Yes, perhaps - if DM doesn't make a come-back.
