Strange. I don't recall house prices shooting up when we joined the EEC. I must've missed that. Mind you, all sorts of magical disasters are apparently going to befall us if we cancel our membership. Why only this morning I heard that security arrangements and cooperation will drop through the floor giving terrorists free range. And I'm sure the oceans will boil and lava fall down from the sky as the Earth splits asunder and falls into the sun. Or something like that.
