Probably because they were elected by their constituents, hold surgeries and therefore need offices and staff. Just a guess, mind.

They don't receive a salary as they refuse to give allegiance to someone they consider to be a foreign monarch yet they are happy to claim and receive money from that same monarch's Government.

I honestly don't know at the moment so I haven't voted in this poll. I live in an affluent, rural area, a very safe Tory seat. The constituency voted to 'Leave' - even the wealthy farmers in this area displayed 'Leave' posters in the run-up to the referendum. Our current MP is, however, a Remainer, and represents neither me nor his constituency. How can I vote for him? Simple answer. As things stand at the moment, I can't.

Like someone else here, I too think this would attract more attention in 'News'. The Answerbank hides its light with these mostly unused sub-sections.

Right now, Conservative. I to live in a rural fairly affluent area ( believe it or not there are such area's in the Black Country ) and our MP is a leaver as are her constituents ( I voted leave ) so no reason at all to change my vote.

Spice, I live in the Black Country too and in a quite affluent area. It's a conservative stronghold right on the edge vast greenbelt countryside with outstanding schools.

I cant find it in me to support any of the parties, if anything more central came along I think it would do well. If forced to, which I'm not, I'd chose LibDem if only to acheive proportional representation.

right now I don't know. I would do what i usually do and do my due diligence very close to the actual election.

I really don't know. We have the shower that is Eleanor Laing, and I really don't think I can put a cross by her name, I definitely won't vote for any of the other parties, so for the first time in my life, I might abstain.

We live in a safe Labour seat but I'll be voting Tory,that's if I vote at all, so fed up of the spitting of dummies from their prams when they didn't get their own way

Steve Barclay is my MP and he has voted exactly as his constituents told him, although with 70+% leavers he didnt have much choice.

No such election to be held. The Commons is determined to thwart Brexit, but the Soubreys etc know that they will lose their seats in a general election.
