The Lib Dems
49 Answers
So.. the lib dems are the only party to say they will remain in the EU and call the whole farce off.
However, there is about 4 parties, saying they will all do brexit differently.
If all the remainers voted for the lib dems, and then all the brexeteers votes were slplit 4 ways, surely the lib dems are bound to win?
Thoughts?

I'm sure many brexeteers now want to remain, after facts came out about the misinformation spread.
Vulcan.. It is debatable if the first vote was even democratic, considering how close it was, and how many lies were spread. Not to mention the immigration propaganda and all the crap to do with muslims and terrorists (you can't deny it wasn't part of the vote, even if you yourself voted for brexit and didn't believe a word of it)

//Most remainers are fine with the status quo, and can't be bothered for change or drama.//
I keep telling you, spathi, membership of the EU is not the "status quo". If you think you will not be confronted by "change and drama" should we be foolish enough to remain, you need to think again for reasons that I and others had frequently pointed out to you.
I'm sorry you think that the referendum was decided because of deceit and lies. All politicians lie and deceive the electorate; it's what they do. Remember that nice Mr Osborne? Publishing Treasury analysis, he said "A Leave vote would cause an "immediate and profound" economic shock, with growth between 3% and 6% lower and up to 820,000 jobs lost". That went well, didn't it? It is up to voters to sort the wheat from the chaff and if they cast their vote on the basis of lies and half truths spouted during an election campaign that's their lookout. For what it's worth, I made up my mind in 1992 that, given the opportunity, I would vote to leave the EU (look up what happened then to see why). Nothing since then and certainly nothing spouted during the referendum campaign, made me change my mind. I wasn't influenced by any of that; I made my decision on what I thought of our EU membership based on the previous quarter of a century. In that respect I think my vote was cast in the fairest manner of all.

NJ, my issue is... We voted for a representative of the UK to speak on our behalf for the EU. A bit like local MPs.
The vote we cast, never elected the people we wanted at the EU, even though they are democratically elected.
I have no issue with this, we lost the vote, fine. The EU is still democratic.
However, farage and brexeteers had objection to this, because it didn't fit their egos.
So, we left... kicking and stamping our feet, even though the whole process is democratic.
Now, brexeteers moan at remainers because, as they say, were crying because the vote didn't go out way, even though it was so close, and was based on lies, and racism, and propoganda.
Don't you think the whole situation is a little.. Ironic?
Voting remain is the status quo. It's for us to still be in the EU and for the election process within the EU to continue as it was, even if we didn't win (or farages vote didn't win) whatever.
Anyhow, the liars managed to get the UK public to vote their way, but they've been so poor at executing their ideology that we've had multiple extensions and gone through two (pretty much 3 including david) primeministers.
All brexit does, is show how much of a shambles UK politics is and how much of an embarrassment we are. We can't even compose ourselfs whilst planning to leave, but we're so confident we can just leave no deal.
Whilst this is going on, the UK public is divided by remoaners and brectums going at each other, internally in parties and across party lines.
This vote will not be a standard general election, and anyone treating it as such, is a fool. This is the most critical general election, i will probably ever face in my time on this earth.
