With the decision to drop the Downing St briefings at the weekend and Boris apparently only doing one briefing per week, is it possible that the Government can't actually find enough ministers willing to stand up and be counted when faced by the journos? Matt Hancock seems to have fronted more than his fair share and has become increasingly incoherent with each passing briefing.

So thankful that we in Scotland get a daily briefing from our First Minister. You can read them here if any are interested.

She does it well but doesn't seem to get the challenged from the press that we get here. Is the case she doesn't allow follow up questions. She is also able to divert attention towards the failings stemming from the English government when the news is not so good. But overall she handles it well

"He's not the sort of person who could ever win an election is he."
He only won that because of the "Brexit factor" in which he conned half the country into believing that they could have jam tomorrow if they voted for him.
Just wait until the next election when the "Covid factor" will come into play. I bet Keir Starmer is already mentally re-arranging the furniture in 11 Downing St.

Boris always looks a bit frosty when he does a briefing, not sure if they have a walk in fridge at no 10.

"The graphs are generally good though and Prof Van Tam, Chris Whitty, Jenny Harries are fascinating to listen to interesting to read between the lines sometimes"
a few weeks back one of the women whose name I cant remember actually rolled her eyes at both a question and a response from the minister. Oddly I haven't seen her since!
I remember that Bedknobs I though she was brill!
I have moved this thread into the category "Politics".

Spare Ed - why move it to Politics as few people look there? Or is that the point? Now, if you'd moved it to News I could understand.
Is "Politics" not a sub-category within "News"? Politicians lead the briefings you say the decision was Downing Street's.

Sounds political to me and I don't think it a good idea to suggest the SPARE ED is trying to hide topics.
Politics is the best category for this thread. We want to encourage use of the correct categories. Threads in Chatterbank aren't featured on the home page or indexed in Google.

Spare Ed - the reason I didn't put it in News in the first place was because I couldn't quickly find a news article to support it - I've been chastised for not providing links before so decided to play safe and put it in CB. Seems as if I can't win.

The sub categories are broken. It is a known issue. If I go to the main menu, there is no plus symbol on News so I cannot navigate to Politics.
angela mcclean is her name
Easy to find - there is a clickable link to 'Politics' at the top of the News topic.

15.36 Its not broken and never has been since I've been using it. I sometimes get it wrong, but clearly this is just a political discussion, its not news.
