wait until the north sea oil starts flowing. should be in a few months if it hasn't started already.
allow only 50% maximum private stake in any given oil extraction operation, with the rest going to a state owned enterprise. tax the revenue of those companies which take the 50% stake to the hilt.
use the money to establish a sovereign wealth fund.
pass the 1982 Employment Act pretty much as was.
defend the falklands, that'll get me re-elected no matter what really.

This was is down to MT and, credit where it’s due, Blair (who was a Thatcherite and more right wing than the current Govt), but MT laid the foundations.
