Similarities?
Not sure where this originated, but thought I would throw it out for discussion (or not as the case may be).
Right-wingers absolutely hate it when people compare Donald Trump with Adolf Hitler, but the similarities are far too obvious to ignore.
Today he's again threatened to annex Canada and turn it into the 51st state. How's that not similar to the Anschluss of Austria in 1938?
Trump is busy marginalising and sacking thousands of federal state employees, and replacing them with boot-lickers and yes men. It's entirely reminiscent of the great purge in 1933.
In 2020 Trump and his followers tried to violently overthrow the election. Hitler was jailed for the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923. The only difference here is that Trump was allowed to get away with it scot-free, then pardoned all of the violent insurrectionists as soon as he got back into power.
In his rambling speech about the Washington aeroplane crash Trump tried to baselessly blame minorities for it, with absolutely no evidence. This one barely needs spelling out does it?
Then there's the way Trump is allowing the world's richest man to tear up the US Constitution and take a sledgehammer to the government. How's that not like the merger of corporate and state power that Hitler implemented?
The historical parallels are completely obvious to anyone who is paying attention.
