Just give the aggressor everything he demands. And I'm sure I saw a report somewhere that one of those demands was.. Ukraine must be demilitarised. What a nutter you are Trump, being sucked in by Putin.

No war ends with everything exactly as it was before it commenced. Though Trump won't give Putin '' the aggressor everything he demands."
Russia will keep Crimea (to which it really belongs & has held for 300 years since Alexandra the Great was on the throne.) and some territory in the East will stay in Russia. But that is far from what Putin wants - he wanted the whole of Ukraine !
At the begining of Putins SMO he told the world in so many words, any outside interference would more or less result in a nuclear response.
Fear was Putins main weapon above all, its not worked, in fact the Ukrainians along with most others stuck their two fingers up to Putin.
Now joe public may still fear Putins threat, so here comes the Hero Trump, who may put those fears to bed, so he's going to become the best thing since sliced bread,we will all be able to sleep in our beds again without fear.
Putin is a killer its his hobby, Trump is a glory hunter, and Putin is laughing at him behind his back, because what Putin see's is that big spanner that Trump has thrown into the Nato sprockets. Putin will play with Trump just like a pussy cat will play with a mouse.
Who says that Crimea is Russian ?
Crimea transferred to the Ukrainian SSR in 1954. With the dissolution of the Soviet Union and Ukrainian independence in 1991 most of the peninsula was reorganized as the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. In 1997 a treaty partitioned the Soviet Black Sea Fleet, allowing Russia to continue basing its fleet in Sevastopol, with the lease extended in 2010.

Until the invasion of course, which doesn't make it Russian. Still reads like it's Ukrainian to me.

It was 'given' to Ukraine by a (dunken) Boris Yeltsin at a meeting at which there were no minutes kept. It didn't matter really at the time because it was all part of the USSR. Yeltsin's mother lived, or was from there.
Ukraine - so my historian wife tells me- was never an independent country it always was a part of either Russia, Poland or Latvia.
The Ukrainian declaration of independence, its first ever, was enacted after the August 1991 coup in Moscow and came into effects after leaders of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus signed Belovezh accords.
crimea's history does not give russia the right to snatch it or any other part of ukraine. it was the territory of a sovereign state that was not Russia.
russia's goal in all of this was never territory... it was to keep ukraine out of NATO and the EU and to keep it in Russia's corrupt sphere of influence. I reckon they will get that.
