Took the first tablet last night, slept quite well but really sleepy today as well and constipated. Would it be safe to take every other night instead of every night??  Thanks all

It wouldn't be harmful but it would significantly reduce the desired effects. Give it more time then speak to your GP if it makes life difficult

The side effects wear off after a few weeks, the hangover effect can be reduced by taking it a little earlier in the evening,  I take mine around 2100,   it would take more than one dose to cause constipation though.

You are unlikely to reach therapeutic levels of you don't take it as prescribed

yes

Why get something from the doctor, which you presumably talked through your symptoms and was also told of the side effects and how long this medication takes to start working and you want to change the dose after 1 night?? Even googling will tell you it takes up to a month to make a difference so halving the dose logically doubles the time. Do you really feel you needed it in the first place?

When I first started taking them, several years ago now, it took 4 days straight before I felt less sleepy and felt more settled with them. You will get used to them and in 3- 4 weeks, should feel the benefit from taking them.
