Rumour has it that John Prescott would like a peerage and a seat in the House of Lords, and he would also like to become an international ambassador for Britain. Doesn't that make you proud? :o)

Would he be called Lord Helpus? there are some large seat in the H o L, and he could be our ambassador in Afghanistan but Pauline would need a very large hair spray allowance there!
Isn't it amazing how people change their beliefs when they get a taste of what else is out there! John Prescott was a raging union official condemning everybody who had more than average and making himself a nuisance to the government of the day. Now he has wallowed in sumptious living and a lot of money he is quite prepared to join 'the club' he so vehemently condemned. Can you trust these people?

Sickening, isn't it, Hugh. What a toad (and my apologies to toads everywhere!).

Wired: 'Lord Helpus' - that really made me laugh. How funny. Thanks.
Oh yes..the bloke who banged on about the Lords being abolished.

Strangely quiet now, is he not?
He could Lord Fat Barry.
He usually looks like he's about to drop off in the House of Commons. God help him in the Lords.

Then again, he'll fit in nicely. Those peers like a nap on those plush red seats. When they can arsed to turn up.
Let's clear up where these "Rumours" have come from shall we?

A quick scan of Google news seems to source them from the Telegraph and the Daily Mail.

Both quote "John Prescott's friends" having told them this.

Now call me cynical but I can't quite see friends of John Prescott running off to share confidences with the Mule and the Torygraph.

Sounds to me like the media is trusting that people won't question too much when the read what they want to see.

And I think they may be right!

I am intrigued to see that John Prescott has a friend in Jake-the-Peg.

Let's wait for it to be offered - and then watch him turn it down. Somehow, I don't think so. Parasite!
He could become an ambassador - I'm sure there must a country somewhere we haven't upset enough yet. The main problem of course would be the language barrier. You'd have to send him somewhere the locals would be able to understand him. ;-)
Lets send him to Zimbabwe.
No - let's send Tony Blair to Zimbabwe.
