what a sickening sight!
Just watched Sky News and it was showing the demo in London, the camera panned in on this very pretty young girl who looked about 18, she was smashing the windows of a bank, she then turned spent of energy and was grinning from ear to ear at what she had done...can anyone explain to me WHY?

Trying to compare what happened in Cairo or what is happening in Libya at the moment is a total no brainer.
Those on the African continent are fighting for freedom from a repressive regime that has left them living in poverty for years, enduring a hand to mouth existence.
The idiots in London are just that, IDIOTS. Most are wasters with too much time on their hands due to the fact they dont need to work as the government pays for all their wants and needs..

ixion - i was just trying to explain that some of the marchers yesterday had a lot less reason to march than other nations and trying to understand what makes them think it is good and right ot behave in the way they did.
and i am so glad you are reassured by my answer. would not like you to be confused - you might feel the need to demonstrate.

I felt really angry and sad that these so-called Anarchists should be allowed to amass and cause so much damage. Why can't they employ watercannon etc to disperse these troublemakers before it starts. And as for Milliband he is irresponsible and so ignorant, considering that the tax cuts etc are all down to the Labour Party, shouting that he wanted to be there with them etc. what a dreadful example of a shadow PM he is! Not to mention Ed noBalls and his wife. I was sickened by it all.
I don't agree that there was a mindless mob - half a million(them?)demonstrated peacefully and received little press coverage - a small well organised(certainly not mindless)group targeted specific premises such as Topshop (owned by a self-confessed tax dodger) and banks - they got much more coverage - I do not condone violence against the police but will not shed any tears over a bit of vandalism to Topshop - and yes I do agree with and support the right of people to protest.
bit of a double edged sword here ixion

I think we all support the right to protest this why we live in a democracy unlike the Libyas and the Cairos, however throwing paint and causing millions of pounds worth of damage just doesn't cut it for me
