How come its 10billion to fix pot holes - ours haven't been done for last 4y. Where do these billion quotes come from when property prices have been static for last 5y and wages haven't increased much.

I agree, I don't know either. The amount of council tax paid in this area is appalling, yet they only fill in pot holes on roads which are not used very often except by tractors. The weight and vibrations of said tractors just pull out the filling. We have many roads here which desperately need re-surfacing but the council say it's too expensive. So what the hell are they using all our council tax for, except lining their own pockets?

They dont empty bins, nor clean soakaways.....they do less & less every year. Methinks they're clawing back losses from the bad banking investments they lost a few years ago.
The bins are emptied here fortnightly, which I must admit suits me. One week it's general rubbish, the next week it's recycling, for which I have 3 bins.
They came and "improved" pavements which did not need doing. It was just so that they were paid the same amount the following year.

They employ sub-contractors to do the job....

My OH is explaining it to me but he's not making sense....
Do you know that the average pot hole costs £150 to rapair....and that's temporary.
