Should he be culprable to the people of these shores and the USA
England for the murder of PC Yvonne Fletcher?
Scotland and the USA for the Lockerbie bombing?
He was in the Libyan Embassy the day this W PC was murdered so surely he would be party to what had gone on as she was shot from within that building
He was a close confidante of the Libyan leader so he would know quite a lot about the Lockerbie disaster and finally, why here?
Have we offered him a safe haven in return for information?

That is an estimated amount..............he's presently been here about 3 days..........

If we have offered him safe haven in return for information, £1million sounds a bargain.

I asked have we jack?
it has also been said that DC has not offered him any immunity at all
and I asked , shouldn't the Scottish people have him there so they can question him about the Lockerbie disaster
It would only cost £50k per year to keep him safe in Belmarsh.

The Iranians were responsible for Lockerbie, not Libya.
Is the alternative that we do not keep him safe?
Where has it been stated we will look after him for a year?
He may hold valuable information we could use to bring prosecutions to those who are guilty, would it not be careless and not in our interests to let him be killed?
Am I asking too many questions, and not enough answers?
OK....
1. Yes. He should be 'answerable' to UK and USA over the Lockerbie issue.
2. Yes. He should tell us all he knows about the cowardly killing of WPC Fletcher.
3. Safe Haven is not the same as Immunity from Prosecution. If the circumstances prove that he ought to be prosecuted then let's hope that happens.

And £1million may prove to be a bargain price.

it was an estimated cost of a year Gromit, no one knows how long he will be housed here, I was simply quoting the annual cost
Question Author
thank you,
I asked questions and you gave me your opinion which I respect jth
The people who shot WPC Fletcher had diplomatic immunity. I doubt if her murderers will ever be brought to justice.
Question Author
he was present at the time in the Embassy sandy, it seems odd that the people inside would know nothing of this
He probably did know about the shooting. But diplomats seem to be above the law. It's not right, but that's the way it is.
Question Author
they do Sandy, there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff that we , the public, will never undersatnd
It must be a bargain otherwise why would we do that? Government and people in the secret agencies do not think the way you and me do.
Question Author
yes keyplus, they say it is not but as you said, they don't think as we do
They were talking about this on the Wright Stuff this morning - as someone on the panel pointed out - why bring him to Britain, they could have, say, questioned him in Malta and still got the same information.

I think he just wants to save his own skin and will no doubt tell them what they want to hear. Apparently, we may be getting more of the same defecting and coming here.
Question Author
Hi Den, as you rightly point out
Why Here?
According to Wikipedia he was expelled from the UK in 1980 - Yvonne Fletcher was shot in 1984.
We have a lovely safe house for him it is called Barlinnie, but this time should be without segregation
