Is David Cameron turning into the Charlie Sheen of British Politics?
Popping over to Pakistan and announcing that Britain is "responsible for many of the world’s historic problems, including the conflict in Kashmir between India and Pakistan"
The ill-advised ramblings of a man who shouldn't be allowed near a live microphone, or are there grains of truth in his statement?

“My Violent Torpedo of Truth: Defeat is Not an Option.” ?
Does he have Tiger Blood? Adonis DNA?

If not, then he probably isn't! Although he does seem able to say reasonably stupid things from time to time.

I'm no Empire apologist, but I do find the level of willfull distortion of it quite annoying. The British did implement the partition, but they'd been working against it for several years because they knew the kind of problems it would cause. The idea for partition and the consistent demand and support for it did not come from the British.
It would seem that some on AB have indeed got the Prime Minister they deserve.
He also seems content to cry down the British at every occasion.
/// David Cameron sparked a backlash last night after telling a Pakistani audience that Britain is responsible for ‘many’ of the world’s problems.///
I wonder if his words will come back to haunt him, when the dust has settled in Libya?

Had it not been for the Russian Revolution of 1905 they would be under Russian Rule. Ghandi & Nehru were against partition of India but Jinna pleaded to British for an independant state, that Mountbatten agreed & drew up.

/// Yes..........yes..........well done, AOG........we've made a note of the fact that you said it first.
Now run along, there's a good chap.///
Why all the sarcasm? there is no need for it, I was only pointing it out that the post you lampooned, was indeed correct, and which was also verified by tamborine, who for some reason also seemed adverse to my opinion.
Why can't some just learn to be civil?

Hmmm...my point is - shouldn't Our Davey run hese statements pass his advisors before grabbing the microphone?
Perhaps something along the lines of:
"We understand that, in the past, some of our decisions which were made in good faith, have resulted in conflicts from which we are now all suffering..."
Says pretty much the same thing but with ballet slippers, rather than hobnailed boots?
