Or a greasy foreigner? - you decide...

Also. Were Cameron to veto the appointment, would that be spiteful?

Question Author
Well, our country is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Would you prefer one of our residents as head of the International Monetry Fund, or a Frenchman or a Chinaman?
Gordon Brown has so much financial acumen that when chancellor he sold half our gold reserves when gold was at its lowest for ages.

Ever since then the price of gold has gone up and up.

He cost this country about 2 billion pounds doing that.

(He cost the country a lot more than that with other awful decisions as well).

Total idiot.

Brown ?! this a person who virtually single handed has led this country (whats left of it) to the brink of financial oblivion and unimaginable levels of debt nearly 3/4 of a trilliion £

whilst chancellor opposed and vetoed nearly all policies that would have controlled and regulated the gambling of the financial sector.

head of the IMF dont make me laugh

mind you look at what job phony blair got, special middle east envoy to broker peace For Funks Sake you cant make this sort of krrapp up if you tried
He's already saved the world once, who could be better qualified to police the gamblers? :)
As for Cameron, not spiteful, just doing what his bosses tell him to.
From past experience he will be channelling most of our money into Africa. Not that this is such a bad thing but why can't we do what the Chinese have done. In exchange for the money let us extract the mineral wealth that lies untouched and is ripe for exploration. He would rather hand it out on a plate and the ungrateful b'stards never appreciate what we are doing for them.
Well, that will be the end of the IMF. Thought he would go to the Wolrd Bank and wreak havoc over in Washington DC
haha rov - thats what always makes me laugh re: exploiting RSA for its diamonds. Its not like the natives gave 2 hoots about mining them.
Brown's reputation is that of a wrecker and a financial incompetent.

Head of the IMF needs the acumen of a professor of economics at a ranking university,
not a 'tried but found wanting' politician. They are no good; Blair and Kinnock taught us that politicians generally do not have the calibre for high office, and must be kept well away from any post requiring intelligence and integrity.
I dont think they need a Bottler and a ditherer, let alone someone whose grasp of economics is at Playschool level.
I wouldn't trust Brown to manage a piggy bank.
Brown head of the IMF - are you kidding? That's ludicrous - like making Tony B-Liar a peace envoy..oh wait....
I agree Brown is not a suitable candidate but who is?
If I had to choose one person it would be Wolfgang Schäuble the German finance minister. He is a down to earth politician . Although he is not anti EU he recognises its financial and political weaknesses . He hasn't much sympathy for the human rights brigade and the pro-immmigration luvvies. He runs a tight ship and Germany is today the only country without masses of natural resources who is successful .
Someone from India or China, certainly not Flash Gordon.
I woulod rather see ronnie biggs in charge of the IMF than gordon brown
*would
If David 'we're all in this together' Cameron doesn't want Gordon Brown as head of the IMF, then I definitely do.
How about Ken Dodd? - He knows where to hide it when necessary!!
