The man,s a failure fullstop.
And yet to me he's a hero
Without being critical of your views ric,I don,t think the widows, mothers and girlfriends
of the members of the Armed Forces killed in Iraq ( an illegal war ) would agree with
you.
He's certainly stirred things up, but then he left us stirred up and in debt when he quit his PM post.
I think the widows girlfriends husbands and boyfriends of those killed in Iraq will be devastated and yet immeasurably proud of the ultimate sacrifice their loved ones made
Nobody forced them to join the army!
He is just interested in lining his own pockets. He has also compromised the security of the country by allowing uncontrolled immigration and taking us into unnecessary conflicts in the middle east. Why he has not been arrested I will never know.

I was put down by quite a lot of people when commenting he was bad news in 1997. Unfortunately I was proved right.

What a load of rubbish.
Im waiting for him to offer the job to gordon brown
The man is a total buffoon but a dangerous one at that. He is again suggesting there should be a President over Europe. My My I wonder who he is thinking of for that post ( and at what salary)?
His role was to change from being a politician to being a diplomat. It his impossible to access whether he has been a success or a failure. We do not know the state of things in the middle east if he hadn't have been given the job, they might have been worse. Equally be do not know if anyone else had been given the job, whether things would have progressed better.

I do not like Blair, and believe he has done a terrific amount of harm to the UK and other countries, but on his middle east role, it is too early and a mistake to call it a failure.

How much time do you suggest Gromet ? His main task was Palestine and Israel and that is probably worse today than when he was appointed in 2007.
He appears more interested in self aggrandisment than tackling the task.
I'm surprised he took on the job but again with his ego he possibly believed he would be the messiah that would achieve it.
Modeller,

Just looked up the fatalities, and I have changed my mind, he has been useless...

yeah - just as ' useless' as all those who have gone before him - presidents et al - right ?

You really think that bringing peace to the middle east is as easy as a walk in the park ?
no,

the bloke is as slippery as two of eels
He has failed as Middle East envoy because he has no independence or originality and is just a spokesman for the US administration. The US are guilty as Israel because they insist on the status quo, no return of the land grab since 1967 and no dealings with Hamas.

Until the US stops arming Israel and a new mediator such as Russia or China or maybe even the new Egypt then nothing will change.

Personally I cannot see the need for a separate state with would be so fragmented and problematic. Why don't they all live together as one state, the Arabs get an equal share of the wealth, homes built by Israel for Arab occupation and also get seats in the Knesset where joint decisions can be made. They did this with Northern Ireland.
The man is a total, TOTAL waste of breath.
The Iraq war was NOT illegal, as a matter of fact. (I didn't agree with it, but it wasn't illegal).
If Blair has failed to bring peace to the Middle East in 4 years I don't think he should be judged too harshly. It's a problem which has defied everyone for decades.
not his fault if he fails to bring peace to the Middle East, since one party is not noted for making compromises. As long as the USA approves everything it does there will be no peace.
