If you were a NOTW reader....
Which Sunday paper did you buy yesterday?
I bought the Sunday Express which I wasn't very impressed with, so will try the Sunday telegraph next week.

they certainly are, aog.
There's a prelliminary report here
http://www.guardian.c...rivals-miss-open-goal
which doesn't exactly answer your question - it says how much Sunday paper sales rose, but since it doesn't say where they started from you can't tell the actual number of purchases. Doubtless it will become clearer incoming weeks.
However (and this will please you) the Mail is planning to launch a more downmarket tabloid to fill the gap.

/// However (and this will please you) the Mail is planning to launch a more downmarket tabloid to fill the gap.///
And why should that please me?
I do not own the Mail neither do I benefit in anyway from it's sales
and neither do I buy a copy.
I only support the Mail, because some would wish it never existed for some reason, only known to themselves.
So my defence of it is only in the name of the freedom of choice for people to buy, read or quote from it's web pages, not just the Mail's but all other legitimate publications.

I would always have a look at the front cover of the NoW whilst picking up the Observer and Independent, and will now miss the opportunity to tut and shake my head (in the same way I do when I see the front of the National Enquirer).
I would have thought the readership would gravitate to either the Sunday Mirror (light read) or Mail On Sunday.
The Mail is in a prime position to suck up the dispossessed NoW readership, because its website is already considerably different from its print sister. Its

Surely the absence of the NOTW still doesn't stop you from 'tutting and shaking your head', feel free it's so easy try it.
